…”family approved” edition?

Yeah! It’s this thing where they take movies and then take out any offensive bits? I have seen it mostly done by Christian organizations, but I’m not sure. It seems like last year a major source of these things was taken down by big studios, which probably explains why Big Lots had a lot of these. But like, Josie and the Pussycats is not even bad! It’s PG-13!

Big Lots dvd bins are basically the greatest things ever

They really, really are. I have found so many great movies in Big Lots. If  I had to choose one store to live in forever, it would be Big Lots. They have everything. But best of all they have cheap dvds. I remember going there a lot, and really wanting Josie and the Pussycats on dvd but they only had the “family approved” edition so I kept on coming back and eventually they had one copy of the normal version. It was one of the best days ever. Big Lots delivers.

gathering images, stories, and characters you like to inspire you.

I look at a shitton of images that inspire me, and then sketch out the idea. Usually at that point I start to refine it, and I get in this weird mood where I JUST WANT TO FINISH IT. And will then work on it until I can’t anymore!

Music that fits the vibe and theme of the project/I find inspiring on shuffle as a FAT playlist, like at least a hundred songs.

The advice I hear a lot from comic artists, is something along the lines of, “Just do it. The quality of the work is not that important.”

Really sorry if that was unhelpful. D ‘:

AHH THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I am putting this all here and saving it! I actually ended up napping and feel a little better but like. I am really feeling it. I am going to do stuff and I’m going to make stuff and like. I need to remember all of this. THANK YOU!

Zelly, you are such a great person and you’re not even close to being hard to deal with or irritating to deal with. You’re the easiest person deal with and that is a good thing. So glad to know you, lady!

Anonymous: hey you don't happen to have a download link for john dies at the end do you

If you mean the movie, I’m sorry but I don’t! I am really excited to see it though.

If you mean the book, I think this is a link to the book as it was published on the web? I had remembered seeing on the jdate tag. I’m not sure how different it is to the final product though! I’d recommend seeing if it’s in your local library…

(And um, I guess for future reference I’d be a lot more comfortable if you had asked this un-anon! That way I could just answer you privately. No worries though.)

Ah! I would normally say that I bet that was totally me, but at 10:20 I was in my school library for Spanish! It must be a pesky Zelly doppelganger.

7 facts about my childhood!

  1. My mom used to take me on these long road trips to “the rainbow festival” and it was a Central Theme of growing up for me. It was also a source of a lot of repressed memories and issues and while I would be different person if I had never had that experience, I might be a more well adjusted person.
  2. All the pets I’ve had growing up: a fish named Pescado, a rat named Templeton, a turtle named Boris, a cat named Joxer, and pets I currently have the three cats - Xena, Gandalf, and Kitters, Spot the dog, and then the chickens Aldonza, Marty McFly, Crustacea, and Ducky. Oh, and at my Grandma’s house I used to have kittens named Tiger and Bubbles, a rabbit named Sobe, and a goldfish named Sarah. And a couple of ducks also.
  3. I went to a democratic school from ages 5 to 14? And had the same group of friends and teachers pretty much. It was and is still a very integral part of myself.
  4. Things I legitimately cried over: spilled milk, a cookie shaped like a bunny, stepping on a snail, losing a paper bag, lion king action figures, a gorilla stuffed animal. I was a really emotional kid.
  5. The first concert I went to that I can remember was either Joan Jett at the San Joaquin County Fair or Sleater Kinney (but for that one I am pretty sure I just played hide and seek in the bathroom the entire time because it was too loud…)
  6. One year I wrote a really gushy letter to the Easter Bunny saying that he was my one true love because I really wanted some Pokemon Cards. I got them but felt really bad about it afterwards because I didn’t really mean it.
  7. I was really really into mummies as a kid. I had this book called “The Magnificent Mummy Maker” that I re-read at least twelve times. I have always been equally interested in science and the supernatural so that was like this perfect blend. I still have a lot of stuff on all that though.

pharts: orange?

6 facts about my hometown:

  1. WELL I guess first off it’s… the capital?
  2. It usually goes from being baking hot in the summer to just being drizzly and gross in the winter and we don’t get a lot of spring or fall. Like this year it’s been gross and rainy and then the next day ninety degrees.
  3. The only people who think Sacramento is dangerous live in either Roseville or Elk Grove.
  4. Apparently we have a very low pregnancy rate but a very high STD rate? Thank you Planned Parenthood for the statistics.
  5. It’s like. Really spread out. Which is cool because there is a lot of diversity and different neighborhoods with different cool things but it also stinks because the public transportation is not as good as it could be and if you want to go to an outlying area you have to drive.
  6. We have two really good independent movie theaters! They are really nice and I like to go there as much as possible. We get movies a lot later than other places do, and not for very long, but they are really nice and really inexpensive, too. I love movies.

man I don’t really know a lot about the political side of here though! I just know doofy things :/
